poorest of the poor in the U.S. and throughout the world. We provide medical care and medical supplies, clothing and food
to the areas we serve.
area of focus has been along the Haiti-Dominican Republic border. In Thomassique, Haiti, we have built and support St. Joseph
Clinic (hospital), the first medical facility in this region of more than 125,000 people.

Countering Malnutrition in the Dominican Republic
Read a report of a recent trip to the Dominican Republic
to assess the progress of a joint program of Medical Missionaries and USAID to alleviate hunger and malnutrition in the villages
outside Banica and Pedro Santana.
This trip also included mobile clinics that provided
medical services to more than 300 residents of the villages.
Meet Our Global Health Fellows
We are pleased to report that our 2016-2017 Global
Health Fellows: Samuel Starke and Lacey Marie Smith began a year of service at St.
Joseph Clinic in June, and are quickly becoming part of the Thomassique community. They play an important role in bringing
medical services and care to villagers living in Thomassique, a rural area of Haiti's Central Plateau.

Healthcare and Illness Prevention in Haiti
In addition to operating St. Joseph Clinic in Thomassique, we also work to improve the health of local residents by distributing water
purification systems, providing help in overcoming childhood malnutrition, and establishing community health centers.
